A year before its release. It looks like WB is positioning it as a tentpole next year.

$250m domestic total thanks to a Marvel-less summer.

it definitely has time travel and so its a nolan sci-fi action thriller. I am thinking huge potential.

I am betting this explodes in china if it gets July release date. Inception was huge there(2nd biggest movie at that point). A sci fi action thriller by Nolan gonna explode big time.

Early(Fanboy) predicts (89% RT with 8.0/10 average score. 75 metacritic score)

110m OW/450m Dom/250m China(if it gets July date)/450m OS - C - 1.15B WW.

Looks really dope. I'm definitely getting Inception vibes, but it also feels a lot darker and creepier than that movie. Really curious to see what Nolan does here, and I definitely think it has HUGE potential, especially with time travel being involved. I honestly think the floor for this is $250M, but the opening might not be that big, but those legs will seriously carry it.

It might gross 300, but I highly doubt it does 400m and our grosses Wonder Woman.

Inception was loved by critics and audiences. Had very, very little competition. Had Leo. And couldn't crack $300 mil.

Inflated it made $344 mil, so that's probably the absolute max this can do.

Alright let me revise...has a good shot at #2. Getting to #1 seems real hard considering Wonder Woman's floor.

Everything else besides WW1984 is a question mark, and I think this hits $325m+. I take your point on critics and Leo, but he's never made a movie received poorly by critics and I think Nolan is the biggest box office draw of any single person (director/actor) right now.

I think the market is actually more favorable to a huge non-sequel than it was back in 2010. Plus, even if it didn't turn out to be a secret sequel, there will still be some nostalgia for Inception driving this.

Nolan is much bigger brand than what he was when Inception released. Plus imagine with explosion of Imax/PLF(there are almost 1000 screens in US compared to under 100 back then). So I dont think inception adjusted is max potential.

I am going to go big and say 110/400m for this. Could win the year both DOM and WW. this is gonna explode in China.

He was coming off The Dark Knight, he was easily at his peak in 2010. Interstellar couldn’t crack 50m OW after TDKR. Dunkirk couldn’t crack 200m, I think this needs a 75m opening minimum for 300m, and would need 100m minimum for 400.

Both Interstellar/Dunkirk were dramas and did much better than the genre's indicated. This is his 1st action packed movie since TDKR. Plus Social media impact is way greater than what was in 2010. This has got twitter buzzing and I am sure that makes me think this has much bigger potential than Inception.

Also when Inception happened Nolan was unknown outside Batman fanbase, While his presence did bring in the curiosity it was no means sure deal. Leo did not have a summer release in eons prior to Inception.

Action movies don’t need big stars for big opening. Here nolan and sci-fi premise is the big hook.

I could be wrong but I am highly optimistic about this at the moment.

I really cant see this hitting $300m domestically. I think $200m would be a triumph (and that's largely based on the Nolan name).
