If Speed 2 didnt happen? Even if it didnt happen, I doubt it will make 300 million. The movie doesnt seem to be mentioned in the same sentence as the Die Hards, Lethal Weapon and Con Air. Maybe 150 million because Keanu and Bullock are still draws

This would be a tough sell. It's hard to believe that there really hasn't been a new form of transportation in 25 years. Unstoppable was probably the closest a good idea they could have come up with (With the star power maybe 48/ 140)

I'm more interested to see Bill and Ted 3 predictions. Does anyone think that has a shot at 100 million? I think that might be able to do Dumb and Dumber Too numbers if really sold right and with Keanu hot right now, could be awesome.

Speed 3 set in maglev train or even Hyperloop could be interesting. This time Reeves no longer a cop and as a potential suspect. it could have potential to be huge may be bigger than Matrix 2.

Make a good thriller. And honestly the best thing would be to make it not about the transportation. Maybe the speed of stopping bombs. I remember Die Hard 3 being an early draft of Speed 2, that's probably the right way to go, and the only real feasible way to bring Annie back into the plot. You could do the train but I doubt either would go back just for a rehash.

Hopefully this never happens. Keanu has grown since then, and this would feel weird.

Maybe just make a John Wick movie with an underground train and have Sandra be the conductor. Better than any trashy idea they would ever come up with. Action would be much better, and because the train is within that realm it could go super fast, could go anywhere, and they have to stop it. And you have a mini speed 3

It's just such a one and done concept. Yes, you could say the same thing about Die Hard, but Keanu's character isn't John McClane.

I don't think it would be that ($300m/$1B) big. Sure there will be a nostalgia factor around the reunion of the two stars but these type of actioners just don't have as big an audience these days.

Something like $150m/$500m wouldnt surprise though.

Speed II Cruise Control was supposed to be a monster in 1997 and yet it bombed mainly to losing its male star. This could make up for that.

Speed II was a bomb for many reasons.

It was. It's OW was piss poor though so it wasn't all down to the quality.
