I love the John Wick franchise. Each new film it keeps growing on me. It's a mini-nostalgic Matrix experience where the sequel keeps up with the original.

Probably just gets past $100 m but would be awesome to see $150 m.

This is the finale, so I think it passes $100m.

Seems harsh for both Pikachu and Endgame. Pikachu did not huge previews or huge MD boost. So it should not not do too bad though its losing PLF it had last week. I would say 55% drop for it.

Endgame should stabilize this week, I am thinking high 40’s or at worst 50% drop.

JW3 - 60m (PS for one large MTC is at 2.3m which is awesome)

Based on early tuesday estimates for Endgame,its already below Infinity War. It should not drop as hard as IW on thursday as that was affected by Deadpool's opening but it does not look like grossing lot more than IW's 3rd weekend of 29.45m. So it looks like another 50%+ drop for Endgame unless it has a soft wednesday drop.

I don't understand all the inflated predictions for Wick. The last one opened just over 30M. If this one managed close to 40M that would be excellent.

John Wick opened to $14.4 mil, finished with $43.0 mil, a 2.985 multiplier.

John Wick 2 opened to $30.4 mil, finished with $92.0 mil, a 3.024 multiplier.

John Wick 3 could easily double the OW again. Especially because JW2 opened in FEBRUARY, against two other $45+ mil openers.

I agree. It's tracking in the $30-35m range, which is fine for it. It's not going to increase 100% like Wick 2.

one of the posters at BOT with access to MTC numbers for a major chain starting with A has reported PS numbers which are very impressive. No reason its a fanboy driven movie. Plus strong reviews will drive in adults. No way its opening like the 2nd movie.

I think opening against two other huge openers hurt Chapter 2 even if it did great. This one is the big movie this weekend. Plus after that huge cliffhanger ending I feel people will be anxious to see Chapter 3.

I don't see how Endgame avoids another 50%+ drop this weekend.

+1. Wick took two of the screens we had it on here. Just two left for a three hour movie.

Chapter 2 also greatly expanded on the world of John Wick, turning from a revenge-actioner to more of a fantasy-action movie. Anyone and everyone could be a secret assassin just like anyone could be a wizard or a vampire. People like that kind of stuff.

Wednesday is 10% below IW. Endgame is dropping close to 55%.

Yeah its week to week holds are >10% than IWs, and IW ended up dropping 52.6% on this next weekend. I wouldn't be shocked with a 60% drop (though I think it will probably be around 57%)

57%+ drop would put its 4th weekend not in top 10 4th weekends.
