Re: April 17-21 predictions
CURSE OF LA LLORONA - 21.688 BREAKTHROUGH - 15.689 MILLION (3-Day)/19.457 MILLION (5-Day) PENGUINS - 4.578 MILLION (3-Day)/5.778 MILLION (5-Day)
I would have expected Breakthrough to do more but if the more appealing looking Miracles From Heaven didn't do better then I don't really know if this will.
I've been seeing tickets selling for Penguins in IMAX 2D. Weird. Didn't know that was happening.

Re: April 17-21 predictions
La Llarona looked hot a couple weeks ago after the second trailer dropped. People love when spooky ghosts are walking slowly towards someone then suddenly pop out from a different direction. The Nun rode that wave to $50M+. But now it just seems like a roadblock. Please get out of the way for Endgame.

These Disneynature topics are so random. I wonder why Chimpanzee opened with $10.6m in 2012? Bit of an outlier.

Re: April 17-21 predictions
Maybe it depends how loved the animal is? I wish they'd do a dolphin one. I'd go to that. 1. THE CURSE OF LA LLORONA - 20.6 MILLION (New) 2. SHAZAM! - 15.65 MILLION (-36%) 3. BREAKTHROUGH - 13.532 MILLION (3-Day)/ 16.782 MILLION (5-Day) 4. LITTLE - 9.551 MILLION (-38%) 5. CAPTAIN MARVEL - 6.544 MILLION (-24%) 6. DUMBO - 5.924 MILLION (-37%) 7. PENGUINS - 4.578 MILLION (3-Day)/ 5.431 MILLION (5-Day) 8. HELLBOY - 4.215 MILLION (-65%) 9. MISSING LINK - 3.923 MILLION (-34%) 10. PET SEMATARY - 3.313 MILLION (-66%) 11. US - 2.792 MILLION (-59%) 12. AFTER - 2.4 MILLION (-60%) 13. AMAZING GRACE - 1.2 MILLION 14. UNPLANNED - 1.164 MILLION (-34%) Kalank will probably debut in 13th but I'm not going to predict it.

People definitely like apes more than Bears or African cats. I think Penguins will probably debut with the same 4 million as Bears, Monkey Kingdom and Born in China.

I’m pretty sure this was before Planet Earth started doing yearly specials with The Hunt, Blue Planet, Frozen Planet, etc... This years’ Dynasties and Netflix’s Our Planet have already covered penguins quite a bit. I could be wrong, but these doc series are so much better than the Disneynature movies that it seems pointless to go to the theater and watch one.

Re: April 17-21 predictions
Plus we already had the ultimate penguin documentary March of the Penguins which was a huge hit.

Re: April 17-21 predictions
So Under The Silver Lake will be on itunes Tuesday, but only to buy. $15 isn’t that much more than a normal ticket though, so this development is fine. Maybe I’ll watch it at midnight to practice for Endgame.

Definitely lowered my Amazing Grace prediction since it's not in the 600 theaters it was supposed to be in this weekend.
