There’s not a great comparison for Shazam that I can find. Pet Semetary is low though, Escape Room made $2.3M on its way to a $7.6M opening day.5.

Shazam number seems OK, though that 4pm start throws a wrench in things. Looks likely to fall within most expectations.

A huge increase from the original estimate. Could have a shot at $60 mil OW now. (and $200+ mil total)

Pet Sematary also got $2.3 mil.

Great for Shazam! I saw it at 5:00 yesterday and there were maybe 25 people so I'm definitely impressed with this number. It's a huge crowd pleaser so should be leggy until Avengers.

Looks like I didn't give Shazam's marketing proper credit. I thought it looked a bit silly, but if you're wanting to be entertained, it apparently fits the bill. It was never trying to be anything other than what it is.
