Yep it will easily clear $300M now.

The Favorite is also a winner with that very nice PTA from 32 theaters. Would be a good choice to expand this coming weekend, where the biggiest cities will be distracted by several new releases while everyone else has nothing.

The Grinch was always going to out earn Ralph during the Christmas period but it is showing even stronger than expected signs this early on. So great news for Universal - the early release date did work out well after all.

Disney were a bit cocky with Ralph 2, I feel. Thought it was going to be a huge hit regardless and now it's looking stupid.

Yeah agreed.

Looks like by shoehorning Nutcracker into the first weekend of November and therefore putting Ralph in the Thanksgiving date - they ended up forcing Universal to open Grinch when they did.

Sounds OK on paper but being the second of two major animated films released within weeks of each other is not optimal.

They should have simply swapped Ralph and Nutcracker. Grinch would have likely taken Thanksgiving and still done as well as it is doing. Ralph would have performed better being the first film released and Nutcracker is a bomb anyway so wouldn't have mattered.

I think Disney hopes for Frozen legs for every Thanksgiving release.

Yes. And Frozen legs are the exception and not the rule.

Definitely not but maybe Wednesday and probably Thursday with the way Ralph has been dropping.
