Early Friday #s
https://deadline.com/2018/10/first-man- ... 202481481/Disappointing for FM for its BO gross and Cinemascore grade. $100M is almost out of reach. Great for Venom and impressive and awesome for ASIB. $200M isn't out of the question for both of each. The real question is which will gross more domestically? The latter has the advantage of Oscar Buzz.

I knew First Man wasn't doing over 20m+. Gosling hasn't proved he can open a film big.

Disappointing (and surprising) weekend for the openers.

pro1986 wrote: First Man feels like a boring Homework assignment Yep that's the problem. It doesn't feel entertaining or 'topical' (or an underdog story) like Hidden Figures, and it doesn't have the excitement of a Gravity or The Martian. Instead it comes across as 'important', which means boring--and that's box office poison.

Venom had a great Saturday and is now looking at just a 55% drop for the weekend. What a crazy good hold for it.
