Re: October 12-14 Predictions
I drove a couple hours to see La La Land in IMAX. The sound really popped. Way more than when I saw it at my regular theater.

Isn't seeing it on IMAX one of the major appeals of First Man? Cutting its IMAX screens would kill it. I mean, if not many are going to it they'd be smart. Halloween would make more money for them. That's true.

The answer to the poll will be A Star is Born. Venom isn’t making less than 30m this weekend and I don’t think a Star is Born will quite get there.

Re: October 12-14 Predictions
First Man's presales according to Fandango Pulse are performing similarly to Sicario 2 and Skyscraper, which both opened $20M+.
Given that older audiences don't always do well in presales, I wouldn't be surprised if a $25M opening happens. Of course, the Thursday preview will determine where its weekend will go but it's definitely opening more than Bridge of Spies now based on the Fandango presale chart on Box Office Theory.

I think $18m should now be the floor for First Man. Great reviews should help it creep over $20m. Maybe $22m.

Bad Times at the El Royale is a wildcard this weekend. Could either bomb or open respectably. Studio expects high single digits while tracking has it anywhere from $8m-17m. Good reviews will help but ASIB is still looming large for a strong hold.
