I don't post enough. I knew it would make 100m and I certainly knew it would hold well. Don't care whether you believe me.

I watched it to experience the hype. It's not that funny. My audience which was sold out laughed and I did at times but sparingly. Going into it I thought Awkwafina would be annoying as shells but she was the funniest part of the film. She should have a larger role in the sequel. Constance Wu won me over but this film just lacks the charm of MBFGW.

Chalk this up to the book being way more popular than I knew and critical acclaim.

It's about 5 million away from hitting a 3x multiplier not counting it's first 2 days. Maybe it'll fall 99.9% from now on? We will see!

After Labor Day we will see just how far it can go. If it begins to slip a bit more in the 4th and 5th weeks it might settle near 200m, but if it continues to hold anything like it has so far, it could make a run for 300m.

I don't think it will get to $300m, though $200m seems like a good target. It would need few more weeks of sub-10% drop after Labor-day boost to get there. The Nun might not make big money but it still attracts a good female crowd. I don't think it will keep its relevance enough. Right now new people are discovering it I don't think that will be keep happening for a LONG-LONG time.

Although clearly different genres, CRA will take a hit with The Nun, which could open in the $35-40m range. These kind of films generally zap the female demo.
