Re: Shazam! Predictions (April 5, 2019)
I was hoping this would compare to Sam Raimi's Spider-Man. But after seeing the second trailer, I think this will be less appealing to women and families in general.
I am still rooting for over $200m.

I am still rooting for over $200m. What the hell did you watch??? this IS obviously appealing to families; girls and teens will watch it because of Levi and the kids who were Disney stars...

Re: Shazam! Predictions (April 5, 2019)
An opening around Aquaman sounds about right with the positive buzz. 70m+ would be nice though.
Would be kinda cool if Us, Dumbo and this opened with 70m+.

Variety has it lower, "as much as $40 million" OW. Given the lackluster marketing, this seems reasonable. I'm still hoping for a $65m/$200m finish.

Re: Shazam! Predictions (April 5, 2019)
Yeah they are obviously confident that this will get great WOM. I also see it exceeding tracking quite a bit, but not by a huge amount. I can see a $60-$70M OW though.

At 97% on RT, 79 on MT.
I'm thinking 66/215 for now. Would love if this does 250m+ though.

Re: Shazam! Predictions (April 5, 2019)
I'm a little baffled by the predictions and confidence in this movie. Judging by the trailer alone I would've guessed something like $30m/$95m. But... great reviews / reception, comic book movies don't seem to be dying if anything they're maintaining / gaining steam, also I'm not really connected to pop culture so no idea what the buzz is.
