Re: July 13-15 Predictions
Hotel - $35M Skyscraper - $18M Ant-Man and The Wasp - -60% Hotel is tough to predict. Moving outside of Halloween season seems like a poor idea, but this summer has been very kind to most franchises and very slim on choices for young children.

Re: July 13-15 Predictions
I really hope Skyscraper bombs. Like, $16m or less bomb. But it has a prime release date and people will just turn up regardless, right? *groan*

My guess is that they did the right move, and the film will open above 50M and finish close to 200M. Of course, I hope I'm wrong.

Re: July 13-15 Predictions
I see HT3 missing $40m opening in July.

Ant-Man and The Wasp is down over 62% on Monday. Homecoming had a -58%. I’m blaming the kids.

Re: July 13-15 Predictions
I know Skyscraper will probably "bomb"... but I still think it can get to $25 mil this weekend. It's advertised everywhere. And it's The Rock.
HT3 still might double it up though.

Re: July 13-15 Predictions
If Skyscraper really does underperform than I hope Equalizer 2 and Fallout can take advantage and breakout somewhat. All three opening so close to each other might still hinder that though.

Re: July 13-15 Predictions
Hotel Transylvania 2 was way underestimated. The same will be the case for 3. This isn’t missing 40m. We are not it’s audience. The first two are very popular among families.

I wonder if HT3 will see the same kind of Friday the 13th impact as teen-oriented fare. Don't think kids care/know about that.

Re: July 13-15 Predictions
Such a disappointment that nobody is releasing a horror film on Friday. Hereditary should have expanded again and put out ads touting Friday the 13th.

Re: July 13-15 Predictions
HT3 opene well here in Oz against strong competition so I can see it getting to $35m.
Skyscraper is all about the Chinese BO, but it probably can make $25m OW.

They also might have wrung a bit more money out of the Unfriended sequel if they moved it forward a week. Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation - 45 million Skyscraper - 29

I actually really don't care about either of them. All I want is I2 to reach 600M, and of course its chances increase if HT3 doesn't do well. Which won't happen, judging from its Thursday previews. Though I'll definitely lose on Skyscraper.
