Insane debut for Incredibles 2. Absolutely smashing Finding Dory, and will become the first animated film to gross over $500 million, and probably $600 million as well.

Disney will have achieved FOUR $600 million films in just 7 months!

Oh, and that's without a doubt the biggest fudge of all-time for A Winkle in Time. If you're going to allocate the money needed for it to reach $100 million, at least put it over by more than $127...

Fantastic for Incredibles 2 and it's likely being somewhat underestimated. With this opening it's already a lock for the number 3 spot of the year with a gross well over $500M. It should easily claim the title of the number 1 highest grossing Pixar film unadjusted and adjusted. Decent for Tag even though it's pretty much expected, and good drops for Solo and Deadpool. I'm also a bit surprised Hereditary had such a great drop as well.

Superfly was a non starter, but anyone could tell you that there was no point to a remake.

Gigantic and smashing OW for Incredibles 2, after JWFK, the market is dead, 600m+ is possible

Just ridiculous, I guess they needed some kind of bargaining chip or milestone marker for rights or someone's bonus if it hit 100m.

Incredibles went $40-60m higher than most of our predictions. It even beat Rev’s seemingly crazy $175m. We don’t get breakouts like this very often, one where the signs just aren’t there. It doesn’t even feel like this huge cultural event, just a movie that A LOT of people wanted.

I think the signs were there that this would be huge - but more "Dory huge" than $180m titan.

It is very rare that no major CGI animated film is released in the proceeding 6 months of the year. Very rare. When this occurs, families will come out in droves to see it. Add in the fact that The Incredibles has a big following among adults aswell and you have a recipe for a mega smash.

Bland Panther also saw a 6% increase despite losing 20% of its cinemas. Nudging it closer to the $700m mark. Disney were putting out fires all over this weekend!

Hereditary dropping under 50% is impressive considering the toxic WOM.

And it’s offically the first movie to debut in the $180-190m range.

What an incredible opening!! maybe the signs were on the wall but I chose not to see them, really didn't think there was any chance of $150m+

I'm also thrilled the movie is great and not trash like Finding Dory.

There were a lot of great week-to-week holds too (which makes Ocean's drop look not so great). Surprised by Hereditary non-implosion. Excited to see the expansion of the Mr. Rogers movie over the next month.

Seems to be one of those cases where the WOM is extremely bi-polar between love and hate. The mainstream hates it but the "arthouse crowd" and to a lesser extent the "internet crowd" digs it.

A Wrinkle in Time just had the second highest PTA of its run this past weekend. I have never seen such a blatant fudge. Disney has no shame.

Incredibles needs about a 3.2 multiplier to get to 600m.

With Dory legs Incredibles will get to 658m. Yowza.
