The whole thing with A Wrinkle in Time is hilarious but not surprising. Drive-ins were offered it for free AND if it was booked, the theatre got more of the profits. So it was a win win for them to have that double feature.

What really happened to A Wrinkle in Time numbers? It made significantly more Friday than it did when being double-booked with Avengers: Infinity War. How did Disney do it? Did they buy out the shows with their own money?

It's just unfair, though. Nobody is buying tickets to that double-feature with an equal desire to see both. It'll always be at least 90-10 in favour of Incredibles 2. Nobody will remember or care for the truth. In the history books, it will read "A Wrinkle in Time grossed $100m domestically", which is just not an accurate representation of its performance.

59m would be very good considering how front loaded the OD was.

A Wrinkle in Time is a blockbuster. Ava DuVernay is the most beloved filmmaker in America today.
