Yeah but I already was thinking it will do that much in China. AoU did $240m is China so an increase of that level was expected. IW needs to do $350m+ in China to get past $2b WW total but then again it could blow up in all markets from its HUGE OW and still get past $2b, it will be pretty close eventually but $2b from this opening is not that difficult to achieve.

Yep that's what I have been saying as well. Marvel has been using Labor Day boost very smartly these past few years by opening their movies a week ahead. But given that this one already opened so HUGE will make the numbers look every bigger.

Looks like $200M OW in China is a lock according to some new pre-sales data with a chance of it still going much higher by the time it releases. If that's true than I think $2B is a done deal and with that it should be able blow past TFA and get seriously close to Avatar's ridiculous WW numbers.

You forget Titanic in between and no even with $200m OW in China it's not going to come close to Avatar's total. At max I see it doing $2.3b which is still a good $400m+ lower than Avatar's WW total.

I see it around $2.3B-$2.5B myself which is above Titanic and only $200-$400M shy of Avatar which is pretty close to me, but you could be right. I don't think anybody thought it had a legit shot of being the second highest grossing film WW though.

Not many discussed it enough but I don't think $2b was far fetched for this franchise. The main trilogies OS numbers have been increasing. AoU almost did $1b OS and that wasn't a great movie. The % increase is mostly going to come from domestic market. OS markets will show increase but none as big as domestic unless it explodes in China with $500m+ total.

So $1 billion in ten days appears to be a lock, I think? Beats the previous record holder, The Force Awakens, by two days.

Yep by Saturday it should get past $1b mark. And to think only a few years back $1b was a novelty and to achieve that without China is AMAZING.

$713m without China and it could reach close to $800m by the time it opens in that market. It's locked for $1.3b OS looks to be an absolute lock. Its looking highly likely that IW will cross $2b WW in its original run and become the third movie to do that.

Given its run I think $700m domestic is happening and then China could surprise and do more than $350m (I am thinking $400m), the last two Avengers were in all time list before Fast series caught up and $400m isn't even close to the biggest movie in China these days.

It will get another $150m-$200m from China and it still did $81m this weekend in ROW (minus domestic and china). It will fall hard from here on in OS markets but it should still cross another $120m+ in ROW OS markets. That would mean another $270m-$320m from OS markets. Add in another $100m+ from domestic market and you get $370m-$420m. It looks to be a lock to get past $2b WW total now.

OS it's facing D2 this week, it could get hurt a lot.
Something like this can still happen: 675M dom, 980M OS-China, 335M China. 1.99B WW total.

Infinity Doom (my prediction for the title, lol) next year will most likely pass it as well.

Not sure the next installment will increase domestically and I don't think OS markets will compensate that decrease even if it has the finale factor.

But Marvel will do the finale factor right that it will draw in flocks.
