Love, Simon- 16
Tomb Raider- 27
I Can Only Imagine- 2
Entebbe- 2

I think Tomb Raider should match Warcraft. Love, Simon will be leggy. I Can Only Imagine could break out; it's certainly a more commercial prospect than Samson was.

While there will be some interest in Love, Simon, I think its reach is limited, especially in more conservative areas of the country.

Twitter activity is impressive - perhaps from the Glasgow Film Festival? Will be interesting to see if the momentum is sustained next week.

TOMB RAIDER - 19.5 MILLION
LOVE, SIMON - 16.5 MILLION
I CAN ONLY IMAGINE - 6.2 MILLION

I can't imagine 7 Days In Entebbe doing much with such bad reviews. A movie like that needs good ones. Somewhere between 1-2 Million.

I am hoping Tomb Raider does well now.
Tomb Raider - $25m

Even with good reviews I don't feel Love, Simon will open big but it will be leggy
Love, Simon - $13m

Don't know about the rest, need to look into those first.

Love, Simon did very well last night in Sneak Previews. It earned 800K in 963 theaters. Because all the other FOX films didn't see higher increases than normal, it will probably be included for its overall gross.

Those previews are very good. I wouldn't be surprised if it beat Tomb Raider this weekend.

Post Re: March 16-18 Predictions
I've been against the Tomb Raider remake since its announcement, having not really loved the new game nor the original movies or games for that matter.

But now that it is here, I'm kind of into it. Alicia Vikander bowing motherfuckers down suddenly seems incredibly appealing. Is it just me? I'm basing my higher prediction on the notion that it is not, and that whatever they've done in the late game advertising blitz has been effective.

Tomb Raider - $25m
Love Simon - $22m

Black Panther - -30% ish

Generous drop for Prey at Night. I think it drops above 60%.

That's possible. I think it should add a couple hundred theaters though which could help soften the blow.

I'm still aiming low for Love, Simon. Just not much interest in my region.

The director has a pretty strong fanbase from his TV career (Arrow, The Flash, Riverdale, etc.) so doing well on social media doesn't surprise me

And YA movies have an inherent social media advantage - remember the record-breaking numbers for Fault in Our Stars? But I think it'll do well this weekend, open at least $15-20 million, maybe over $20 million if the theater count goes up a bit from estimates. And yeah, despite someone not being the subject of a studio wide opener since Bruno, LGBT+ issues are a lot less stigmatized than they use to be - they played the trailer for this before Greatest Showman, and my mostly-full audience of families lost it at the "straight kids coming out" gag at the end. It has a lot of potential.

Meanwhile, I Can Only Imagine is hanging out at #5 on MT.com already, so I guess that will be more successful in netting a Christian audience than some of the more recent attempts?

I Can Only Imagine is getting more traction among the Christian community than I’d have expected. I could definitely see a high single digit or even a 10m debut for it if it gets enough theaters.

Is there any significant interest in Tomb Raider beyond "Huh... Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft"? I think this will go below $20 mill opening.
