I want to wait and see what that second trailer looks like aswell as what those early pre-sales look like before I am even tempted to join this. Its going to be HUGE regardless though.

I believe that is partly true, because not everybody who showed up to that movie will be interested in IW which is why I'm not so quick to join this club, but I also don't think its unreasonable to expect at least some won't be curious even if it is just a small portion. It does look like Wakanda plays a pretty significant role in the movie, and those who are big fans of the character might want to see it just for being able to revisit the world again.

Its just hard to tell how many though.

I'm in this range as well. I'm pretty sure that the Last Jedi's record for second highest grossing OW of all-time is definitely going down even if it only tops it by like $5M.

Marvel shouldn't put so much focus on Black Panther in IW's marketing, in my opinion. Sure, show him, but don't do a DC and plaster him as the central figure like Wonder Woman was for JL. They are too clever to do that. But it would be tempting. A lot of BP's attendees are showing up because it is a huge black blockbuster, not necessarily because it has anything to do with the MCU, and those won't show up for IW.

And I believe some folks who did find him badass in BP will want to see Infinity War. It will not be a big push, but maybe the few extra million it will need. There is no way this opens below The Last Jedi, I think. The hype is BIG.

Also, don't understimate the love for Guardians of the Galaxy. Adding them to the Avengers will have a bigger effect than Black Panther.

On top of that, I just expect it to be crazy frontloaded. I mean, those who actually want to see it, who would not want to see it opening day or at least opening weekend? To many it is perceived as the final culmination of the MCU. The whole thing building up to this.

I mean, it is Age of Ultron plus Doctor Strange, plus the Guardians, plus Black Panther, plus Ant-Man, plus Spider-Man. There is just no way they can top that in any near future. The only way they could pump up the hype a tiny bit more is if they flash Luke Cage, Daredevil and Jessica Jones in the marketing (but they are probably not in the film).

Opening Day - $115 million ($43 million from previews)
Opening Weekend - $250 million

I think the anticipation for IW is fever pitch and that BP's success will only help it (at least for OW). It could likely match BP's 4-day over 3 days.

From there it could still flirt with $600m so it just depends how high BP can go.
