The TV spots for Game Night really aren't very funny. Not the ones I've seen anyway. I do want to see it though, mainly for McAdams and Bateman.

Annihilation looks great. I hope it does well. But really it's suicide opening right after Black Panther. I definitely would have expected it to be estimated for more theaters though.

Exactly. People are programmed this way, and will attend because it is a great date/Friday night movie.

Plus there's not much else to see. I'll be pretty much caught up on the movies I have interest in.

The only reason I could see an opening in that range is because there hasn't been a comedy in ages. It just does not seem like one that will break out.

I think Game Night has a good concept enough for it to do well over OW

I agree. Maybe it will defy our internal tracking. It's just the type of the film to do so.

I was initially thinking 15 Million or so for Annihilation but the theater count is not promising. I think reviews will be great so I might increase my prediction later depending on how great and how many theaters it ends up in.

There has really been a drought of comedies recently. That should help Game Night. It won't miss $20 million.

Openers will be overshadowed by Black Panther.

I have seen Natalie Portman and Oscar Isaac a few times on TV promoting Annihilation. Normally it should not miss $10m OW. But with BP, who knows?

Game Night has two likable leads. But WB is not using them as much to promote the movie on talk shows. It should have a mid-teens opening and long legs.

I don't know, Annihilation does not seem very commercial.

Game Night reviews are pretty awesome. I'm much more excited for it now. And they say Rachel McAdams steals the movie. :D

I hope so. It's one of my top picks in the Draft game.

Her rendering of the "Oh no, he died!" line gets me whenever I see it.

I hope Game Night is actually funny and not simply sophomoric.
