Solo took a much bigger drop from Rogue One than Justice league from BvS, so I’m gonna go with that one.

Justice League, It still should have been a fresh franchise and equaled within stinking distance of the at least A:AOU. Everyone was predicting doom for Solo, and get ready SW fans Episode 9 is going to disappoint as well.

I thought we were talking about BO and expectations wise. JL is the clear winner franchise-wise and that would hardly be a question.

Certainly JL - it should have been the crown jewel of the DC universe - nobody expected SOLO to be the crown jewel of the Star Wars universe...

Justice League still at least doubled its budget. It was a money loser but it still had countries where it did well


Solo is apparently heading for sub 200m overseas. 400m worldwide might be a struggle. All this on a massive 300m budget. Solo isn't just a money loser it's going to be one of the biggest bombs of recent years

Solo is bigger disappointment since everyone saw JL fail coming, but a Justice League movie making that little is more embarrasing

The only thing that matters is worldwide box office, and Solo takes this by a country mile. It will be a total embarrassment and has broken the force field surrounding the Star Wars brand as infallible, which will have bigger repercussions later on.

Nah I don't want to use that term in particular. I saw it on Deadline and somehow caught it but since its confusing I can go ahead and use ROW marketing instead.

Star Wars side film released at the end of May, that cost $300m. But a side film. Sure.

While I agree on this to certain extent but look at the decrease from original in terms of BO.

Solo will drop from $532m of RO (and that's the lowest of the recent SW movies) to $230m well below half of that movie (might be even lesser than that if its as frontloaded as regular SW movie).

JL was dropping off from BvS i.e. $330m to $230m.

Uhh Solo cost $200m before the reshoots. It got a prime summer slot and a $100m+ global marketing campaign. If that's not a tentpole I don't know what is.
