Re: Solo under $100m OW club | Two days left to join! BVS opened well, but was heavily hated, which is what wrecked JL. Last Jedi was generally liked. Evidenced by the cinemascores. And Solo will play more to the good will of the first 3 films. Despite how it looks, fans will want to see it at least to see how it ties into the cannon.

Re: Solo under $100m OW club | Two days left to join! While there is some baggage with this entry I hardly think it is anywhere comparable to JL. Plus I agree the SW brand is still VERY strong and this was its preferred weekend before TFA kicked off the December slot. Being a holiday weekend will only help in this case.

Re: Solo under $100m OW club | Two days left to join! I'm not sure how JL performed so badly the opening weekend. It was coming off WW for heaven sakes but after watching it that opening night it just had to be terrible wom. I LOVED BVS MOS, SS was okay and I had no intention of watching that JL mess ever again in theatres. Even with all the fake fan polarization I think most SW fans will still show up if not general fans and that should be enough especially with the holiday weekend.

Re: Solo under $100m OW club | Two days left to join! JL performed bad because it was the sequel to BvS and that it looked like one. The trailers were crap and it lost the novelty of seeing three of their biggest superhero's in a crappy movie. The WoM impacted its legs.

Still a firm believer in under $100m. Trailer views don't lie and it would be the same decrease that Revolutions had from Reloaded.

I'm swinging towards 'this will do well, soft for a Star Wars movie, but will still pull in LOTS of casual folk looking for fun.' Highest May grosser fasho. Maybe $420m total.
