KJ's Winter/Spring Box Office Contest 2019 - Planning Thread
I've locked in the following movies for our next contest:
Glass Cold Pursuit The LEGO Movie 2 What Men Want Isn't It Romantic Alita: Battle Angel Happy Death Day 2U Fighting with My Family How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World Captain Marvel Us Wonder Park Captive State Dumbo The Best of Enemies Pet Sematary Shazam! Hellboy
That's 18 total films so far. I'm looking to add 2 or 7 more, in addition to two backup films as well.
What other films would you like to see in the contest, which spans movies released from Jan 4, 2019 through April 18, 2019?
Also - as you can tell, I'm delaying Avengers: Endgame until the summer game as that's where it rightfully belongs.

Slim pickings. Only two that really stand out:
The Curse of La Llorona Missing Link
The rest are meh. But two for backup:
The Turning The Informer

I can't narrow it down to 7. Here's 8, but I do have three Other options.
The Curse of La Llorona A Dog's Way Home Escape Room Serenity The Upside Other: After Other: Greta Other: The Prodigy (This has a very cool, creepy teaser trailer that got a good reaction in front of Halloween.)
Anyway the more the merrier.
Eli was picked up by Netflix. It's not releasing in wide release. I don't know why they didn't take it off the schedule yet.
Also there's no way Jacob's Ladder comes out then. There's no trailer.

I vote for:
Chaos Walking - Will bomb but KJ usually likes Doug Liman.
A Dog's Way Home - It's basically a Homeward Bound remake and I could see it breaking out big.
Curse Of La Llorana - Horror is volatile so why not?
Serenity - KJ loves McConaughy
Bernadette - KJ loves Linklater
Under The Silver Lake - What follows It Follows?
The Upside - When I saw Aquaman an old white guy loudly said "I love Kevin Hart" after the trailer.

Oh I didn't see Missing Link, thought it was a summer release. Definitely need more LAIKA in my life.
