Dark Phoenix is not a lock. Apocalypse had bad WOM and the series is kind of overdone and passe at this point. The same drop from Apocalypse that that film had from Days of Future Past would put Dark Phoenix at $103m. It just has to drop a little bit more to miss $100m. If it gets a simliar reception to Apocalypse it could easily gross something like $41m/$95m.

Mary Poppins Returns is also not a lock. That one's kind of wild. I'm not sure how relevant Mary Poppins has remained in popular culture. It would seem obvious that a big Disney tentpole in the holidays would be a sure bet for $100m, especially considering musicals have been doing so well lately in that spot, but it's not a total lock I don't think. Not in the same way Avengers or Jurassic World are.

It is not necessarily going to be as big as I predict, but I don’t see how it misses 100m when The Greatest Showman and La La Land both grossed 150m without source material

Mary Poppins Returns should comfortably be the biggest grosser of December.

Oh, glorious. Peter Rabbit made it to $100m. Second film of the year to do it, and the next film to do it could be a long way off. 2018 is a bit of a disappointment so far.

lol I forgot Fifty Shades. I guess Wrinkle will scrape through as well.

So that's 4 released so far and possibly another 2-3 before Avengers.

Surprised that Peter Rabbit is doing mediocre numbers in OS markets and over-performing domestically. I wonder if $150m will be enough for a sequel with $50m, which Sony should be looking keenly at.

Peter Rabbit's low OS numbers are because of its slow release, it still has plenty of markets left.

Ah I c. Didn't realize it has staggered OS release. Thanks Tower

You can get A Wrinkle in Time off the list.

I would place Halloween under Slim Chance. Last R-rated horror flick to gross over $100m adj in October was Paranormal 3 in 2011. Halloween has better(?) brand recognition and the return of Jamie Lee Curtis but those factors won't move admissions much.

Yeah Wrinkle will miss $100m for sure now.

Halloween is not getting to $100m, there is not even a slim chance to it.

I think slim chance is fair actually. Halloween H20 does adjust to over $100m. Not saying this will do it but it has a chance if marketed well.

Slim Chance, yes. What the fuck is Scarface doing on the list? No chance in hell it makes even $50m.

Scarface won't be released this year anyways so yeah it should be removed. As for Halloween 20 years and one more reboot later I don't think it has even a slim chance. Scary Movie didn't do it after bringing characters from the original and there is just no way these movies are made relevant enough for this time to get so many audience back.

Yeah, because that's the same. And did that even happen? Do you have a correct comparison there?

Do you have a problem with Rampage or something? Also no Skyscraper. What's your beef with Dwayne? Are you secretly Mark Sinclair???
