Re: $100+ million movies of 2018
Night School for sure won't get there even if it breaks out.
I feel both A Star is Born and First Man will not reach there though the later has a good shot given that these sci-fi space movies have done well in this slot.

First Man can get there if it gains traction during awards season.

First Man is not sci-fi.

Re: $100+ million movies of 2018
We should have 24 x 100m films by the end of August (including halloween).
After that there are another 12-14 films that are likely candidates. That would leave the year with 36-38 $100m films which is very impressive given that recent years have hovered around the 29-33 mark.

Re: $100+ million movies of 2018
Christopher Robin is losing 1,173 of its 1,638 cinemas this weekend, so its chances of getting to $100 million are now slim. It still needs $1.6 million and it only made $435k last weekend.

So it looks like we'll have 34 films to hit the mark, similar to 33 last year, unless The Mule starts dropping hard.

Welp, besides Dark Phoenix, which of course moved, all the locks made it (or will make it since Poppins isn't there yet)

Well, that's what a lock is, so no kudos for getting those right. How many of the others did you get right?

Slim Chance Blockers NOPE First Man NOPE Wow, you should have kept your mouth shut! Got one right, but it's okay. Because I was scraping the bottom of the barrel. I was picking possible hits on top of PE1's lists. His lists already included 27 $100m+ movies. The best results I could get right was 6 movies (There are going to be 33 $100m+ movies in 2018). In the end I got one right ( Rampage). I was always expecting movies on the SLIM CHANCE and POSSIBLE lists more likely than not to make less than $100m. Here are the 5 movies that I missed: A Quiet Place - reviews-driven sleeper hit The Meg - underestimated monster shark movies Crazy Rich Asians - underestimated its demo appeal Creed II - did not know it would be released in 2018; otherwise I would include it in my GREAT CHANCE list Bohemian Rhapsody - thought Bryan Singer allegations and reshoots would push back release date; otherwise I would include it in my POSSIBLE list

Ugh Christopher Robin. One away from the tie with 2013.
