I know it's a tad early but there are so many movies coming out leading up to Christmas that I was excited to make predictions.

It's harder to predict Greatest Showman with it opening on Wednesday and then Christmas Eve being on Sunday. I expect it to do solid from Christmas on and will obviously have a fantastic multiplier. I might adjust it up a little if reviews are strong.

So Jumanji and Greatest Showman aren't getting previews? Weird.

Will Smith's Netflix movie "Bright" seems like one of the most legitimate straight to streaming releases. I think it could have been a 20 mil opener if it came out in theatres with real promotion. I'm interested

Yeah, that is the type of film that Smith should be releasing in cinemas, not crap like Collateral Beauty.

Previews would be Tuesday night. As far as I'm concerned, I think it's stupid for the studio to have previews Tuesday night for a Wednesday opener because you're giving the people who already really want to see your movie a huge discount for seeing it on Tuesday. They would leave a lot of money on the table by having previews.

Jumanji is #4 on MT right now with 1.9% which is to be expected. I'd be worried if it didn't show up yet considering it opens Wednesday. Close behind though is Pitch Perfect 3 with 1.7% which is very good as it's not showing until a day later.

I don't think Jumanji will burst out of the gate as big as some expect though the midweek and second weekend business should be very strong.

Dang The Greatest Showman has weak reviews. I'll probably see it anyway, I love big musical movies.
