DCU is shit, it feels like box office divine retribution on this terrible franchise.

I've already mentioned I loved BVS. Great movie.

WWW here? The story I guess and the bad taste that critics left audiences with. That RT rating is just ridiculous for BVS imo. I thought this had too much comedy and let go of it's serious tone that MOS and BVS had whereas I wasn't feeling that in JL because of all the comedy. It was like Marvel-lite. The action for me though was very good. They should have had more of that. Guess you could also say that by rushing to Justice League without a Flash or Aquaman first kept this film from having a true event status.

I keep hearing so many people on YouTube who analyze box-office talk about Warner Bros not showing Superman in the trailers, and while I do think it might not have made a big difference it definitely hurt it to some degree. Of course we all knew he was going to be in it, but general audiences had no fucking idea. What makes it worse is that they were pushing Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg so much that it seemed like they forgot to consider why people should even care when none of those characters have had solo movies. This is why the DCEU plan is a clusterfuck to begin with, because they haven't built up any other heroes properly outside of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

It would have really benefited them more if they just followed the Marvel formula honestly.

There are so many problems that depending on my mood I can make a case for each one being the reason for its failure. The main one, though, is that they already blew their "team-up" event load with BvS, and that was only the second movie in the universe!! It is so blindingly obvious to everyone except DC, it seems. They're just idiots, and all they wanted to do was bypass a few years of foundation work to catch up with their rival studio. Now they are where they deserve to be.

Warners keeps it coming. How about releasing these at the beginning of the month? Or when the first posters came out since everyone knew he was fucking alive?

Spoiler: show

I am not saying Snyder's cut would have been good but I would rather have seen that version. At least it likely wouldn't have felt like a half baked Avengers copycat and would have tied up the loose ends from BvS more (like Batman's dream)

For sure 1924.

Also the performance of the DCU is not so different of an athlete using doping. He might get away with it a few times (SS, BvS), even win (wonder woman), but then finally getting caught (JL).

@Jmart, would have preferred the posters in spoiler tags.

They instantly look better with Superman though, especially the line-up one, shame they didn't go for it.

Cyborg mask looks pretty bad up-close.

The line-up one is so wrong. The order is stupid. In the foreground it should be Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. In the background, Aquaman, The Flash, and that other idiot. So even though Superman is included (though way too late) they still fucked it up.

Man of Steel is unapologetic one of my favorite superhero movies

BvS has its problems and overall should have been a lot better. Though it's grown on me a bit

Justice League. Ehhh..

going back to what I said, while we never know if Snyder's version would have been good, I think it would have been much different than what we got

I think the original idea was probably going to be Superman returning in the finale of the first Justice League movie but as evil, leading into Justice League 2 with Darkseid, hence all the Knightmare stuff.

You can tell just how much of the BVS teasing was meant to be for a two-part Justice League tale that never got to be told when BVS underperformed and got savaged.

Quite a shame things got derailed. I would have preferred the JL1 JL2 and the setup as you present it. I also wasn't a fan of all the extra comedy in JL. It seemed to take away the serious/darker tone created by MOS, BVS and even WW.

If it had been Green Lantern instead of Cyborg and Superman in the marketing that would have added like $20m. The line up as it was seemed weird.

I agree Green Lantern is much more known character than generic looking Cyborg, would have been better from marketing stand point.

They needed the diversity.

Mustache superman would have added to the diversity too.

I am writing an article for the first time in a while for this very topic. I’m disgusted that I have absolutely no interest in seeing this movie. This is even worse then the meltdown from Reloaded to Revolutions.

Agreed. So at this point if you're WB you move forward with Aquaman, Wonder Woman 2 and solo Batman for obvious reasons. Beyond those films though, you need a Kevin Feige or Dave Filoni or Simon Kinberg to architect the DCEU. Sit down and map out your strategy but don't rush and don't saturate the market with a bunch of hashed together superhero films.

Yeah I don't think it will work now since BvS and JL exist. They would need to continue making solo movies and make them good without really planning ahead as of now. They need to wait first and then build a universe on top of it.
