It just doesn't feel like Coco is a tent pole film outside of it's appeal towards Hispanic audiences. Moana had way more buzz at this point, but that had the Rock who is a social media marketing beast on his own. It's got great reviews though, so maybe that will help out it's legs more than the likes of TGD.

After years of underestimating the Hispanic demographic, I'm being a little more optimistic about Coco. I still don't see its 5 day over Moana, though, and I concur that it doesn't have typical tentpole film expected to generate palpable buzz.

I could see Jigsaw or maybe Blade Runner possibly beating it, or if Last Flag Flying expands enough, but other than those I don't know what would beat it. What kind of theater average would you expect for CMBYN?

Re: November 22-26 Predictions
7 minutes of Fandango watching: Coco - 122 Wonder - 101 The Star - 25
Coco sales is too close to Wonder for comfort.

Re: November 22-26 Predictions
I've always thought Coco looked like a sub-$200m grosser. Which is a shame since the animation is gorgeous and we need to support original Pixar. Hopefully it can beat Cars 3 atleast.
$9m opening day, $41m 3 day, $60m 5 day.

Maybe families won't see Coco because of that pig Lasseter!

$9m opening day, $41m 3 day, $60m 5 day. I don’t think it hits 60m 5 day off a 9m OD.

CALL ME BY YOUR NAME - $400,000 (New) Three Billboards is in more theaters than I thought it would be. Was thinking around 400. I'm increasing my prediction to 6.65 Million for the 3-Day and a whopping 8.32 Million over the 5-Day. I'm really reminded of No Country For Old Men even though that had a couple hundred more theaters in its third weekend (also over the Thanksgiving stretch). That did close to 11 Million in its 5-Days.

Blade Runner numbers are out now and it did $541,078 in 434 theaters. So CMBYN should be 14th. Still super impressive being in 4 theaters.

Re: November 22-26 Predictions
Close though, and it indeed did well. Let's see if that continues with a wider release as we know it's much easier to get a good PTA in just 4 cinemas.
