Wonder is right behind Thor on MT. With a strong opening this should be a leggy hit. Depending where it opens it could do 70+.

Yeah, this seems like the kind of movie that could end up pulling a 5+ multiplier, honestly - it'll have a great hold next weekend, and then has zero competition for the next two weeks, and I assume audiences will eat it up. Might be a mini-Blind Side (which also opened the weekend before Thanksgiving).

Yeah that's what I'm thinking.

I am still not sure Wonder would open big but it should have a leggy run.

Upper teens is definitely looking good. 16-18 I'm thinking.

I kinda think that this is the type of movie that would do great with online sales but not many walk-ups during OW specially with a HUGE opener this weekend. Once the WoM spreads then it would get more and more walk-ups or most likely weekdays will become its strength.

So there are only nine films in mroe than 600 theaters this weekend. When was the last time we had that few movies in proper wide release? That's kinda nuts.

Interesting fact. Not sure why this is happening but movies are tending to loose theaters faster nowadays mostly because if they don't hit with audience they mostly bust at BO. The studios used to keep the movies afloat longer even with them not being HUGE.

Wonder has gotta hit 20 or even 25m with these presales.

Nope. There is the bestseller factor here which might inflate these presales figures

It’s tripling Thor. How does it come in under it for the weekend?

Are you seriously comparing the presales of an opener to a third weekend holdover that is having the most direct competition this weekend? Also do you think every movie that does better in presales rank up same at BO? zwackerm you have been around for enough time to know that by now.

With Thor it's not like people really need to get their tickets in advance anymore. It's not likely going to be sold out. Wonder is doing insane presales due to schools going so the sales are kind of misleading. You have to take it with a grain of salt. But its percentage is indeed superb even with pre-sales taken into consideration. High teens should at least happen but more is certainly possible.

I think this will be a Transformers kind of situation where WB will fudge it to get past that mark.

Well obviously you got it right now but you didn't answer before seeing numbers. I can go ahead and show you examples of what you said being wrong i.e. MT's sales numbers not representing BO ranks. Also Wonder is NOT tripling Thor's gross over the weekend.
