Yeah, I was expecting more to be honest. But it does look and feel like a follow-on from H20, which I love. So still looking forward to it.

The bathroom and closet scenes are much more straight scares. Really want something atmospheric.

McBride said this thing is going to have callbacks to the sequels and you can already spot some of them (the dead mechanic = Halloween 4. The bathroom stall scene = H20. It's been spoiled that there's a Silver Shamrock reference, etc.)

It's a nice way of paying tribute to the "lost" films.

Not bad though gives away a lot of the story and doesn't look overly suspenseful. Lack of the spooky Piano theme is a huge miss.

But the classic piano theme IS in there. It's truncated in the beginning but it's in full force starting around 2 minutes in. And it ends with it. I thought the trailer was promising overall.

The Shape Stalks is much, much scarier.

It looks a little thrown together. A little rushed. I would have preferred a little more care and pedestal-placing because Myers looks a little shit in the trailer and a little too agile for 60 year old (he must be 60, right? He was a full-grown man in '78 and this is 40 years later). Having said that, it is just refreshing to get back to having a Halloween film coming soon. All the others came out at a time when I was too young to go and see them (or I wasn't interested [RZ]). Jamie Lee Curtis looks awesome and she was always the independent type, so it makes sense that it's escalated to being a gun granny. Honestly, I'm not looking forward to many movies over this.

Looks great. There's no way it misses 50 Million OW and it can go higher.

Yeah I can definitely see this opening to $40-$50M in October. The trailer is selling JLC's return well enough and it should help that it's not another remake or reboot of the franchise.

I don't sense a huge OW tbh. There's clearly a lot of hype with fans, but to the general public won't this look like another retread? The big reunion happened already with H20, and then there was that other reboot 10 years ago.

Yeah, because this franchise has rebooted-retreaded-revamped already a few times, audiences don't hold it so dearly as, say, a Star Wars. They accept that, and they seem to enjoy Halloween movies regardless.

I don't see why this can't match H20's total gross - with a much larger OW but weaker legs.

Yeah, at this point. There is no way this isn't at least doing 40 million OW. H20 started stupid trend of releasing every other film in the Summer. But the 40th Anniversary, JLC looks awesome, and the film itself looks great, and a fucking Halloween film around Halloween. This is their Skyfall.

I don't really keep up with what the standard is for trailer views, but it seems disappointing so far, Spiderverse and Bumblebee have twice as many although they've been out for 5-6 days respectively instead of 3

:hahaha:

That whole interview was just embarrassing. He insists Haddonfield is a real place even after she says it's a fictional town. Then asking if she's seen Roseanne's meltdown or if she'd like to.

That poster is really cool. Sells it perfectly. It is Halloween, same as always, but this time we have some top quality film makers behind the wheel.

There is Haddonfield, NJ (where Debra Hill was born) but I guarantee that idiot doesn't know that.

I don't see what was so embarrassing about the guy thinking Haddonfield is a real place. Seems like a normal mistake to make if you don't know. I mean, he is just a campy television presenter. Now, if he was the film's director, then yeah. Or Johnson not knowing what Aleppo is, then yeah. But this interview didn't seem too bad. It's your usual breakfast-style interview segment. I just wish they had talked about new aspects of the film rather than bringing up all stuff we already know.
