Post Re: Friday Numbers
Wonder Woman and Baby Driver both made 405k.

A little disappointing for Annabelle after the early $17-18m projections, but it is still very impressive. Don't Breathe showed that well-received horror can play well throughout the dog days of August and September too.

Dunkirk should be able to get $10m off that. The quest for $200m is all but dead though. I was hoping it'd start in the 20-30 range without any competition, but ho well.

So Annabelle did $11m on it's Friday. Not going to do well over the weekend. Might come out in the expected low-to-mid 30's range afterall

A low to mid 30's opening for Annabelle would still be pretty damn good when you consider the reception to the first Annabelle, but this just goes to show you how frontloaded previews can be, especially for franchise films and sequels. It was going to be damn near impossible for it to hit $40M unless it hit $20M OD which was already a longshot considering the vastly different release dates between this and the last movie.

I have a hard time seeing it having a worse Saturday than Alien: Covenant, but you never know.

Annabelle will probably only do 30-32 Million for the weekend. Kind of disappointing given the preview number but still great.

Ingrid Goes West did awesome. 48,800 from 3 theaters for a $16,266 average. Will be in the upper $40,000 for the weekend. The average is better than Neon's Colossal from earlier in the year though that was in 4 theaters (averaged $30,057 OW). It's supposed to be nationwide on the 25th. Hopefully that means my theater will get it. Looks awesome.
