I feel like it has a wide range of potential. On the one hand, Bleecker Street has only had two movies make over $9 million, so they aren't a very mainstream distributor. On the other hand, the cast has just enough big names, and heist stories have just enough appeal, that I could still see it breaking out. Not sure yet. Could completely flop with $6-7 million, could be a big breakout and near $20 million.

I'm assuming it's going to get around 2500 theaters. Going up against a more mainstream looking Hitman's Bodyguard, I think Logan Lucky's potential is limited, even with good reviews. I can't see it doing anymore than $5000 per theater, and probably more like $3500-$4000. So I'm predicting around a 10M opening, but it might be able to do up to 13M on the high end IMHO.

Logan Lucky reminds me, in an odd way, of Hail, Caesar! Lots of star power on the page and well-reviewed (this will receive even better reviews), but with a slightly left-field indie-movie quality. A bit aloof for mainstream audiences.

It's supposed to be around 2,500 theaters with a strong focus in the South.

Hitman's Bodyguard is going to end up being such a huge waste of potential. I've seen even less marketing for it than either Atomic Blonde or Dark Tower and it seems as if Lionsgate doesn't really know how to advertise it which is puzzling. I mean it's a action comedy starring Sam Jackson and Ryan Reynolds, so it shouldn't be that hard, but maybe they just aren't that confident in it. The early reviews aren't that great anyways.

Logan Lucky on the other hand feels like a complete wash IMO. I'm honestly expecting another Detroit because outside of the Southern markets I just don't see it connecting.

Wind River is expanding between 600-700 theaters this weekend.

Perhaps most of the fun stuff between Reynolds and Jackson is rated R, so tough to advertise.

Based on some snapshots of Fandango, I'd guess it won't be long before Hitman's Bodyguard shows up on MT. It's not doing great, but it's doing much better than Logan Lucky.

Both newcomers are on MT now:

1. Annabelle: Creation - 15.1%
2. The Hitman's Bodyguard - 13.6%
3. Dunkirk - 7.4%
4. The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature - 6%
5. Logan Lucky - 5.3%

I just realized the U.S. is one of the last places where American Made will come out. It is out in the Netherlands now and will open in Australia, England, Indonesia, Norway, Portugal, etc. by the end of August.

They should have released it here this month, too. Could have benefited from the dearth of competition. Late September/early October is a far more competitive time period this year as it turns out.

Yeah i realised this is being released next week here. Will now have to cram it in along with Logan Lucky and Baby Driver before it leaves theatres.

A major bungle by the studio for not releasing it in August as it always should have. Missed opportunity
