August will have no 100m films.
September will have 3.

Almost definitely. Dark Tower will probably have a $35m / $100m type run but that is it. It will probably outgross most of August in the opening weekend.

The Dark Tower ain't doing 100m. Hitman's Bodyguard... up in the air but eh.
It, Ninjago and Kingsman will do 100m.

Re: Will September have more $100m movies than August?
Sometimes the lack of any major film creates hits out of what is there. That could play into the hands of Dark Tower, Detroit, Annabelle and Hitman's Bodyguard. At best though - i can see only 2 of them making $100m.
That said - I would love Logan Lucky to be the month's break out hit.
September on the other hand is looking great. IT, Kingsman and Ninjago should all make it.

Yeah I thought initially about Annabelle too but given that Conjuring 2 didn't see a big difference from the original with decent reviews then this one is carrying baggage of the last movie.
The two August movies - TDT and THB September Movies - IT, Kingsman (I don't feel that Ninjango would do it but its a strong candidate).

Re: Will September have more $100m movies than August?
Like most have already said It, Ninjago and Kingsman should all do $100M+ and he only films I could see hitting that mark in August are The Hitman's Bodyguard and possibly Detroit. Annabelle will do well, but the last movie couldn't even hit $100M with close to a $40M opening and being released in October and this new one will definitely suffer from that movie's poor WOM regardless of the good reviews. The Dark Tower has bomb written all over it though.

After seeing it I don't think TDT is going to make $100m even with a $30m OW. Looks like September has an edge now.

So if ANNABELLE fails to hit $100m - and itc certainly looks like it - there wil be ZERO $100m grossers in August, that's simply unbelievable...

Re: Will September have more $100m movies than August?
The only way Annabelle could maybe get to 100 Million would be if they re-released it in October. Though it's obviously going to be paired with IT at drive-ins which will help it not fall apart too harshly next weekend.
