Re: Friday Numbers (May 26)
yowza at Alien's drop. They should've just kept it in August tbh...
I think that # for Pirates is fine considering how much Depp and the franchise has fallen.
Bring on next week.

Re: Friday Numbers (May 26)
Terrible drop for Covenant. Though personally I'm glad about it. It's a movie that utterly disrespects the classics.
Personally I don't find that number bad for PotC5. It still might catch on with families over the weekend as it seems like it could have good WOM based on A- CS.
Baywatch was always going to either break out or do bad. So it's doing bad. I think it might be because they really changed the whole feel of the brand. It was never a slapstick buddy-buddy frat-like comedy they made it out to be. It was a very cheesy 90's drama with sexy looking people, but still a drama and audiences probably never clicked with the new concept for the brand.

Also TBB has been doing great and having great drops weekend to weekend, but I can't help to be slightly disappointed that it will have around 3.5 multiplier when everything is said and done. Seems like a really low multiplier for a pretty good run it has been having.

Pirates numbers are bad, but Baywatch's epic floppage is making it look a little better.

Re: Friday Numbers (May 26)
What a pathetic weekend for the openers. Pirates will at least be able to save face OS, but Baywatch tanked badly. It says something when not even The Rock can bring out a sizeable audience, but awful marketing and crappy reviews don't help either. A terrible drop Alien Covenant as well, but I can't say it doesn't deserve it.

Terrible weekend not only did the openers do bad the holdovers aren't hitting the mark. Its like the reverse of March when everything exploded. I hope WW doesn't follow the same and saves the BO from this slump.

That would have been a daring pitch for a tentpole remake.
