Except for MG's completely mad (  ) #5 placement for The Dark Tower, there's not nearly as much craziness this year as previous summer games. I'm kind of surprised no one gave #5 to The Mummy or Captain Underpants.

You all are crazy for not predicting higher for The Dark Tower.  I have absolutely no knowledge of its story, but it looks awesome. It's got August to itself as a bonus.

Well looks like everyone who picked Guardians 2 to finish #1 for the summer is sweating bullets now. Wouldn't be surprised if Dispecable Me 3 tops it |

DM2 did $368m and I don't see another increase this time. It feels more muted this time around and there is always the second sequel curse to aid . DM3 should barely be crossing $300m IMO. The one thing in its favor is the release date and no competition for it in entire July till Emoji Movie but then Spider-Man has good family appeal, plus DM2 also enjoyed summer weekdays to get to that total.

Yeah even lowest legs from here on will still give GotG2 about $365m which should mostly be good enough to be above DM3 which will do big but surely decrease from the last movie. |

Doesn't help that Minions kind of diminished the demand a little. Don't get me wrong it will still be very big. Minions wasn't that well-liked though even if it was a huge hit. |

Yes Minions definitely diminished the demand a little and you cannot expect the movies to keep expanding, they are already HUGE to begin with. |
