This reflects sales till December though, and I don't think we have figures on digital sales.

That is pretty much the same in terms of sales. Also that BvS has been in the market for longer time (10 weeks more) so it makes sense for it to have slightly bigger numbers.

DC fans are more hardcore than Marvel fans. The Dark Knight Rises trounced The Avengers' home video sales, as I recall.

The point is BvS was largely disliked apart from a hardcore fanbase that resembles Trump Supporters on the comic book universe

WW is not in the BVS teaser. She's in 2 seconds of the Comic Con trailer. She's in 15 seconds of the marketing turning point Doomsday trailer. She's in less than 10 seconds of the final trailer.

But sure. She was "featured" in the film and marketing.

I have zero data to back it up, but I do wonder if Civil War's rapid availability on Netflix (just a few months after the Blu-Ray release) could have impacted sales figures overall.

I'm sure Disney is making a lot of money on the deal, but I'm sure a lot of folks are going to hold off buying things like Rogue One, Beauty and the Beast, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc. because they know it will be on Netflix within a few months.

You're correct. Spider-Man was not featured in the Civil War marketing. Could've opened to $200 mil with him featured more, imo.

Also, who is talking Marvel/DC? I brought it up ONE time regarding the silly reasoning for this club, but that reasoning not translating to Infinity War predictions. You got mad. And it hasn't been mentioned since.

It's still not a true statement, but at least you could make the case that Spider-Man wasn't on the posters and had a limited presence in the toy lines/general merchandising (and I assume that all has more to do with the rights sharing agreement with Sony than Marvel not wanting him front-and-center.) At the end of the day, I still think everyone and their grandmother knew Spider-Man was in the movie.

None of that is true of Wonder Woman in BvS.

Things we know online ARE NOT THE NORM. Most of a films gross comes from people who see the OCCASIONAL TV spot, and maybe 1 trailer.

People knew fucking Wonder Woman was in it. End of fucking story.
