Post 19 straight weekends of Certified Fresh #1s
So Kong: Skull Island will be giving us the 19th weekend in a row that the #1 movie in America was certified fresh at Rotten Tomatoes, a streak that started at the beginning of November:

Nov 4-6 - Doctor Strange (90%)
Nov 11-13 - Doctor Strange
Nov 18-20 - Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (73%)
Nov 25-27 - Moana (95%)

Dec 2-4 - Moana
Dec 9-11 - Moana
Dec 16-18 - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (85%)
Dec 23-25 - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Dec 30-Jan 1 - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Jan 6-8 - Hidden Figures (92%)
Jan 13-15 - Hidden Figures
Jan 20-22 - Split (76%)
Jan 27-29 - Split (76%)

Feb 3-5 - Split (76%)
Feb 10-12 - The Lego Batman Movie (91%)
Feb 17-19 - The Lego Batman Movie (91%)
Feb 24-26 - Get Out (99%)

March 3-5 - Logan (92%)
March 10-12 - Kong: Skull Island (78%)

Remove the repeat #1s, and that's still 10 new #1s in a row that have had over a 70% on RT. And if you're more of a Metacritic guy like myself, all of these films have a green rating on that site. That is an insane run of well-received movies reigning at the box office, and probably unprecedented, yeah? And you have some other certified fresh movies released in that timeframe that did incredibly well at the box office as well without winning a weekend (Trolls, Arrival, Sing, La La Land, John Wick 2).

Beauty and the Beast may or may not break this streak, as it's balancing around 70% right now. If it is certified fresh though there's a half-solid chance that it rules the box office for four weeks, if it can hold off Boss Baby. And if Fate of the Furious continues the critical hot streak of that franchise, that could pick it up, and that could carry over to Guardians of the Galaxy, which barring disaster will also be fresh....

This could go on for a while.

It's going to end with F8 cause that movie is going to get torched by critics

It might not.

Fast Five 77%
Fast & Furious 6 69%
Furious 7 79%

And all previous movies were rotten. They apparently mastered a formula that critics also accept.

Without the acclaimed actor Paul Walker the franchise will tank

It should end with FF8 though. It looks more abysmal than the last.

So Boo! A Madea Halloween was the last rotten #1, and it reigned for two weeks.

This streak will last through May no sweat gurls. Critics like Fast and Furious.

So I don't see BATB getting certified fresh even though it should stay fresh overall. This was a great observation and definitely great run. Would be interesting when this streak will be topped.

If a BATB rose to 75% would we count it?

Certified is when it goes above 70% from general as well as Top critics so no that can't be counted.

Per RT:

"Movies and TV shows are Certified Fresh with a steady Tomatometer of 75% or higher after a set amount of reviews (80 for wide-release movies, 40 for limited-release movies, 20 for TV shows), including 5 reviews from Top Critics."

Well I guess that is true but to achieve 75% would translate to having 70% from Top Critics as well because they are generally the ones more stricter in their ratings.
