The current Jungle Book is also "live' action adaptation so yeah Mary Poppins back then was as well.

Emily Blunt is a promising casting choice for the title character - reportedly, she is supposed to be playing the character "meaner" than Julie Andrews did, more like PL Travers wrote her. Mind you, this is still Disney, so I'm not expecting it to be reminiscent of The Hand That Rocks The Cradle.

Blunt is definitely a great choice. I wonder if this movie could get some awards buzz with a December release. Surprisingly BatB didn't get many technical awards nomination as I thought it would.

It will probably not get award noms other than techs maybe. It would probably have to be even better than the original for major noms.

Might get a costume nom, but everything else is unlikely.

This seems like a good target for it. I don’t see it being HUGE to the tune of 300m but I think it should sell a decent number more tickets than Cinderella (2015).

Trailer views aren't concerning me right now. Still think it's going to be huge and expect trailer views and social media to balloon when the holiday marketing is in force.

250m+ is not crazy, but this will do sub 200m, thus out.

I think it will be a big one for girls and mums at Christmas. Not sure what that means for its box office, but somewhere in the region of 150-220 seems doable.
