This is gonna be so huge on Netflix in August. Until then, I still don't see the audience turning up. And are we sure 90s nostalgia is a draw?

Beauty and the Beast can also fall into the 90s nostalgia category.

Maybe if it was opening in August I would be tempted, but in it's current slate no way. I think anything over $40M is good for it though considering the amount of competition.

I think there's a small chance it makes more than Logan and Kong. We could be overestimating the appeal of yet another solo Wolverine flick and and a Kong prequel no one really asked for.

And who asked for a Power Rangers movie? The grosses of the previous movies surely do not support another being made, whereas King Kong made over $200m...

There is buzz for this movie. It cannot be denied.

There is intrigue. Not sure I'd call it all positive or even "buzz". Lots of people are interested to see just how bad it can be. And that intrigue can so easily turn into ridicule if the marketing screws up or it receives bad reviews prior to its release. It is in such a fragile position, that opening a club to such an amount as $60m is quite a bold prediction.

This looks too bad to smash like that. Transformers actually looked bad ass from the trailer. It was superbly edited and the robot visual effects looked revolutionary (remember when everyone was shocked that The Golden Compass won over it at the Oscars?).

This looks HORRIBLE. Corny, poorly acted, and worst of all, cheap. The effects look dated. Guaranteed sub 30% RT score. Audiences have become much more discerning in the last few years thanks to RottenTomatoes, IMBD and other online aggregators becoming more mainstream, they know if something will be terrible before it comes out.

I don't think it will open that high. I see a $40m OW for now.

3 years ago Lionsgate managed to open Divergent to $54.6m, although that was in a much less crowded March. I still can't see it fall below that.
