It seems no matter how much evidence I give that points to this possibly being good, people will still expect the contrary.

It will probably be bad but women will have The Rock and guys will have plenty of bikini eye candy. Will be huge.

That's quite good. Not probably bad.

The Rock got SAN ANDREAS to an almost 50% RT score. No way this finishes under 60%.

He got a Hercules movie directed by Brett Ratner of all people to 60%.

The promotion for this movie is everywhere. But I don't feel audiences are particularly interested.

If this club is for 5-day, I may join.

That's kind of weak criticism, that's the range a lot of Ratner films land in.

Difficult to bet against anything The Rock is in until he has a total flop.

Early tracking has this in the $45-$50M range for the 4-Day which sounds about right honestly. I could even see it going lower, because I don't believe the marketing has been very good so far, but if it gets good reviews than maybe it can surprise.

45-50 is probably based on the level of marketing.

Reviews I think are definitely key, which means if it's good, they ought to screen it to critics sooner if they haven't already.

But like my post above linking to the Critics Choice site, maybe it has already screened for critics and they're just waiting for the embargo to drop.

$50m would be great for this. What are people expecting? Bay watch isn't some brand that there is much nostalgia for at all. Hitting $50m would a big testament to the rocks star power

Reviews are coming in and they are terrible. THR and Variety crapped on it, basically calling The Rock the only good thing about the film, and Empire gave it a rare 1/5.

So, which is more potent - the draw of The Rock or the toxicity of Efron? I'm going with Efron.

I just can't believe where Effron's career is heading. He should just ditch his agent and start getting some good movies. I believe he can be a decent actor but he never plays a different character.

Reviews for this are really fucking bad, but I can't say I'm surprised. The trailers looked awful and no one was asking for Baywatch reboot. This will likely only be a light blemish on The Rock's track record, but Effron needs to seriously choose his projects better. This is a guy that I really disliked during the whole High school Musical phase, but have grown to like more over the years due to his solid comedic chops. He deserves better than this IMO.
