I'm 27 and I feel like I barely remember the end of Baywatch and boobs bouncing on the beach in red swimsuit being a relevant part of pop culture. If you're 18-22 which this is the type of comedy for I think it's too far gone. Not to mention even for the people that remember it wasn't all that to them anyways. If the movie was called Lifeguards it probably would've done just as good

Re: Baywatch 60m+ OW (4-day) Club Baywatch could have been a solid, well-reviewed film. The TV show had its share of episodes with good storylines, conflicts, and plausible real-world scenarios. They just went the sophomoric route and figured The Rock was a lock.

Re: Baywatch 60m+ OW (4-day) Club I feel like there is also a disconnect between what people loved about the original series and this new film. The marketing has consistently stressed abs and pecs of Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. But the original series was obviously popular with men because of the women. Ok, this film has some girls, but I don't see the marketing putting them front and centre. It's all Dwayne and Zac. Which means that it becomes a film targeting mainly women, and it's the wrong time to target women with male imagery. Apart from that, the obvious comedy aspect is probably turning people off.
