The teaser shows so little but it was good. Will need to see first trailer but if Harry Styles still has a fanbase by this film's release that'll help.

I kind of wishes this flops that way Nolan feels more compelled to make Batman 4

Yeah. This reminds me of SPR in so many ways.

I think it can open to $60m+ which is a tad higher than SPR adjusted.

So many things going for it. The teaser is effective. Its the first major WW2 blockbuster since Pearl Harbor (which didnt live up to expectations). Nolan, Nolan, Nolan.

But I believe most importantly - is that it opens in a summer that looks to disappoint with generally weak product and sequels. Apart from GOTG2 - there is no real must see. Also - this will be a blockbuster for adults who will be an undeserved demo.

$64m/220m

In. Even though Interstellar didn't clear $200 million, I think this one will benefit from the summer release date and the fact that it's premise will make for a much more straightforward sell.

The battle is famous and can be sold, but I think Interstellar was easier to sell. Plus, Nolan's name likely won't be able to build the same hype after Interstellar.

Maybe its just me, but is $200 m really that impressive anymore for major tentpoles? Its Nolan afterall. His last 5 films will all adjust to $200 m + next year. Also, with potentially 10 + $300 m + movies this year, $300 m is the new $200 m.

Sadly the teaser didn't get much of a response from my crowd, but it's insanely effective. Nolan's name will create HUGE buzz alone and the story should be more appealing than the very sci-fi heavy Interstellar. Strong reviews will help too, but for now it's hard to say how far this will go without another trailer. I do see $150M as the floor though.

Everybody laughed when the trailer ended in my theater. I got chills thinking back to the end of Inception. Like everybody is like "What a tease!" Which.....is the point of a teaser.

Silence over the entire crowd when Nolans name appeared.

You should wish harder. There is a better chance of Nolan taking DCEU than Batman 4.

It will have to be amazing. Like jaw dropping word of mouth. Because it won't open over 50 million.

Out for now. The fact that there was no US involvement in this battle/evacuation will limit its domestic appeal. It should perform best in the UK, France, Belgium, Poland and the Netherlands, the countries that took part in it.

Hmm, I couldn't disagree more. People don't care who took part. It's a war movie, by Nolan, with the power of Warner Bros. behind it. I don't think people in the UK will know who took part, or care. Neither will the US. But you're right to be out. I just disagree with the reasoning. I mean, War Horse made $80m and that had the "disadvantage" of being set in England, in the First World War, with no US involvement, and with no stars (or none on a par with Tom Hardy, or Kenneth Branagh, or Mark Rylance after his Oscar win).
