No.

Just looks at 50SOG. Had VDay on Saturday, so it's Sunday drop was HUGE, but that even dropped 55% on Monday still. (the closest to an increase I could find: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?pa ... olsout.htm )

This will also be the first real four-quadrant blockbuster of the year, and since Jumanji/Last Jedi. Coupled with likely good reviews (I trust Coogler), and it should do quite well.

That spot has finally convinced some members of my family who have never watched a single MCU film to try and see it OD. I've said this before, but this movie is going be a HUGE draw for non Marvel fans, especially among urban audiences. The same older crowd that supported films like The Help, Hidden Figures and Get Out are going to want to see this purely because its such a big deal being a mostly black superhero film. Combine that with the usual rabid Marvel fanbase and what should hopefully be stellar reviews and I don't see why it can't do Deadpool numbers. Th only thing I'm still not too sure on is its OS appeal, but the extra exposure from IW trailer should help it a bit in that department.

Its hard to say just how this movie is going to play in the long run, but the OW is going to be MONSTROUS.

We will only have one standard showtime Fri-Sun. While I personally don't like when the theater does this, it will definitely inflate grosses. I don't think people should be forced into PLF/3D/IMAX, but it's a business, so they are entitled to whatever strategy brings the most profit.

At this point, I think we are dealing with a floor of $375 million for its total. Cannot imagine it opening below $150 million or having a multiplier worse than 2.5. I think a reasonable prediction is a $165 million 3-day opening and a $445-450 million total. The high end is $180 million/$500-520 million.

I might have said this elsewhere on these forums, but I'm getting more and more of an "It" sense from this movie, where all signs are pointing towards an opening weekend more massive than any of us should reasonably predict. It's quite exciting, honestly.

Even with US over-performance I can't see this above $1b mark WW. Deadpool did $420m and that was with R rating. This can increase over that but I think it will top out at $500m OS.
