Does anyone here even remember that JL had its first "official" teaser? That was POOR and I don't think $300m is the floor for these films. WW also has another hook of first female superhero movie, like BvS with titular fight and SS with villains teaming up. JL really doesn't have that anymore because Marvel beat them to the novelty of superhero's teaming and BvS, SS have definitely set them back. WW if not good could kill this franchise and while JL will still reach/crawl $300m in the end I just don't see next installments getting past that mark.

SS is having better reception/legs than BvS despite worse reviews. WW will need a 2.5 mult + decent reviews to salvage JL. It just has to not bomb. It will open to $100+ mil, and if it can finish over 50% on RT and over $250 mil Domestic, I think JL still can open over $175 mil and finish over $350 mil.

The reception is truly the same. Especially since SS is only two weeks old, people are still desperate to like it. BvS has been out for 5 months and people have already come to peace with the fact that it isn't great.

totally doesn't mean anything that coming off a <2 mult film, in the same movie universe, SS opened to $130+ mil. MEANS NOTHING. MOVE ALONG. NOTHING TO SEE HERE.

So we have to argue on that? Its not like you will change my opinion on how I like a trailer.

I am still blaming Snyder and I guess the media exposure has brought his name out a lot now. Directors have previously influenced a movie's total so I think this will be the case with JL as well since Snyder is directing it.

Its going to dilute the effect but this series have definitely lost a big chunk of audience to make them $600m+ contenders.

I just wonder if this could surprise and out-open BvS but the hype seems subdued at this point even with WW just released. BvS had the hype even with SW7 hogging everything.

DC desperately needs one of their films to go above $400m. I don't see this one doing it.
