I think they want The Last Jedi to wrap up its run before starting the marketing campaign. Maybe a Superbowl spot will be the first time we see footage? |

I'm surprised there hadn't been a trailer with TLJ. I guess they could still push it back to December to avoid over-saturation. |

They need to seriously consider delaying this. We are at the end of the year and still no teaser trailer or anything. I get that they want to avoid some confusion with TLJ, but Han Solo is its own thing and I'm sure enough of the Star Wars fans will know the difference. If they wait until Superbowl/BP that would be really late IMO. |

Crazy that they didn't have a trailer to attach to Jedi. I personally don't care about the movie but it is nice to see an event movie actually releasing on Memorial weekend again. |

Well, there's a difference between Ford and Solo. I would agree with Excel that nobody really cares about Han Solo under 35. |

Sure, people under 35 will see it. People see films they don't care for all the time purely because they are big blockbuster films and they don't want to miss out. Plus, that's what marketing is for ... to convince you that you do in fact care for something that you really do not. |

Crowded May. Too close to TLJ as Ep8 will still be in theaters. Divided WOM will sour SW in the minds of some. I’m going to say $430-$470m. Let’s say $450. Hope it’s $550m though. |

As much as I love the Memotoal Day slot having a high profile film released on it - this just has to move to December. http://variety.com/2017/digital/news/av ... 202645136/ IMDBs most anticipated of 2018 list had Solo in 10th which is terrible. Granted with Tomb Raider and Pacific Rim in 5th and 6th the list is suspect but this is not a good sign. |
