MGM really are shite at estimating for AMITYVILLE.

Still, 3 weeks in the top 5. Something new for a horror movie.

Major over-estimation all around, especially the bottom half. Hope Sin City is still around 2.0M.

Million Dollar Baby is still crawling toward the $100M milestone. I hope it get there, but it still needs a good multiplier with respect to this weekend's gross and will take at least another month.

It's not any better for xXx overseas, with 50 different territories in 4700 theaters it only managed 14.7m, while Hitchhikers in 3 territories got 8.3. I cant belive how much faith Sony had in the movie.

If MDB is playing still next month it should make 100!

I knew Kung Fu distribtution was botched. Kept telling everyone timing and slow screen expansion would have made the difference. Still, it'll pull in as much as Motorcycle Diaries did on an entire run, which is no small thing. Think of what it could have done with smart distribution. And I'm saying this not being a fangrl of the film. Just looking at those numbers practically.

Wow projections were all overpredicted this weekend. Except for Sahara pretty much.

Everything overestimated :-k

Million Dollar Baby will make it to $100 million, the studio will definitely push the movie past the mark. It won't become the first Best Picture winner not to pass $100 million since The English Patient.

Not good for Kung-Fu Hustle, but then again, for a foreign flick it's very good. I see it ending with around $17-18 million. I have a feeling that at least one foreign flick will outgross it this year.

Which one? 17-18 million is pretty damn high, and their's no Juenet/Tautau pairing looming in the near future.

High Tension, Night Watch, Howl's Moving Castle all have a shot I'd say...and of course the most prominent ones come out during the awards season, so we probably haven't even heard of them yet ;)

Am i the only one who feels that SPC will blame home video entertainment imports of KFH? I get a feeling they will pull a Miram-AXE/Diss-ney thing, will they?

I wish KUNG FU HUSTLE was doing better, oh well. I still can't believe at how well THE PACIFIER and ROBOTS are doing

The Pacifier and Robots are clearly enjoying the void of family flicks in the marketplace at the moment. I mean, no matter how they market it, Hitchhiker's Guide is not a family movie and Sahara is hardly one as well...

There has been fairly steady advertising for both High Tension and Night Watch so I'd say both have a good chance at $20-$25 million, the with the former possibly clearing $30 million.
