RDJ didn't say 2018. The article author did - it's an assumption based on another 3-year gap. It's the most likely scenario, but I know some people who think Captain Marvel should come BEFORE Avengers 3... |

At this stage it could be either 2018 or 2019. They have locked in dates for both. Wouldn't surprise me if they went for the latter to get more into Phase 3. As for BO - this has a legit shot at beating Avatar domestically. |

I expect that the first Avengers will be the high point of the franchise. It will be like the Spider-Man franchise, where the openings get bigger, but the legs get worse. If 2 is well recieved, 3 could open to 250 million, but I doubt it will get much more than 550-575 million domestically. |

This thread is utterly pointless. But it's a great impression of Marvel as they also place hold release dates for unknown films, and mark66 has just place held this thread LONG before anyone else thought it was necessary. Isn't there some type of rule that you can't make a thread so far in advance? |

This thread should be changed to Avengers: Infinity War Part I and II Predictions Personally, I think Infinity War: Part 1 will see a dropoff from the 225ish that Avengers 2 is looking at to 200-210, with the potential for Part 2 to finally hit 250 OW and 100 OD. |

Avengers: Infinity War Part I - 170/415 (Revised) Avengers: Infinity War Part II - 220/580 (Revised) I could very well see a somewhat DH2 effect with IW2. It might not have the same level of significance as Potter, but general audiences really love these characters. |

This is a curious one. Normally I'd expect another decrease since Age of Ultron was not that well-received, but then again, neither was Iron Man 2 and the third did very well. Sure, it has the Avengers boost, but if CA: Civil War and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 are great and the Guardians appear in Infinity War, it will also get a boost. If the Guardians of the Galaxy really are added to Infinity War Part 1, I see it opening to 215+ million in 2018. |

What? Oh nvm it's an old post. I think you're right with the general point. 1st one will be a bit lower than AOU but the final one should see a nice bump I would guess, perhaps near the original. |

It will be prone to the "Part 1 curse", so expect a major decrease from Age of Ultron regardless of how Civil War performs (it'll also disappoint, but that's a different topic). All I see for Marvel going forward is decrease after decrease after decrease. I don't see any one that dropped off watching these films at the cinema thinking to give them another go. Of course, it all depends on marketing for each one, but the marketing is not going to be so different considering this is Marvel/Disney we are talking about. We pretty much already know exactly what the posters will look like for Infinity War: Part 2 (just check out Ultron and Iron Man 3 for a hint). |
