Re: Frozen 2 predictions
After seeing the new short, I’d have to say any anticipation I may have had is muted because it was so lame!
Is the overexposure of the brand going to hurt this?

Whatever record Incredibles 2 sets for animated opening weekend Frozen 2 will beat. That’s how big it will be. 550m-600m

Re: Frozen 2 predictions
A lot of people, at least the type who post their pop-culture thoughts on Twitter, seem irritated by there being a TV-special-length Frozen "short" before Coco.

Re: Frozen 2 predictions
This is going to be big but that "short" before Coco was HORRIBLE. Even kids in my screening were asking their parents (rather loudly) when is Coco going to start.

I actually thought it was cute, but it’s way too long. I don’t know why they didn’t just edit it after they decided it wasn’t going to be a TV special. And the only reason it’s there is because I don’t think Disney was initially too confident in how well Coco could open.

Re: Frozen 2 predictions
I love when people here think they can speak for an entire theater. If Jack Sparrow went out of his way and listened to every child (PS I hope you weren't alone) in the theater and say Dam this short film is terrible.
A. Why are you watching Coco B. Why are you listening to people in a theater? Especially children that have no idea what they are even watching. (Now we have to assume you are listening to everyone, and you divided the demographics)
Ugh that is so creepy.

Re: Frozen 2 predictions
He overheard them? He has ears? He even said they said it rather loudly? You’ve never heard anyone make a comment in a movie theater?
And if you think children (not toddlers, but children) can’t pick up on what they’re watching even though they might not get the themes or the minutiae of what they’re watching, you’re out of your fucking mind.

Re: Frozen 2 predictions
Olaf's Frozen Adventure 'long' appears to be widely criticized and dismissed as an annoyance -- it could end up backfiring by keeping more casual moviegoers away from attending the sequel.
Wasn't there already a Frozen short a year or two ago before another Disney film involving animate snowballs?

The short won't make any difference to the opening of Frozen 2 so not sure why it is being discussed.

Re: Frozen 2 predictions
Considering the wait between Frozen and Frozen 2, it was understandable they wanted to remind audiences that it still exists.

Re: Frozen 2 predictions
Certainly more than I was expecting, which was just a short, joke-filled teaser of some kind.
Looks like a promising approach for the franchise.

Re: Frozen 2 predictions
Disney has 4 films that have a very reasonable case for #1.
Avengers: Endgame Lion King Frozen 2 Star Wars 9
All have potential to finish over $600 mil.

Re: Frozen 2 predictions
This is gonna be absolutely massive. Incredibles 2's OW is in play and it'll almost certainly beat Catching Fire's record for Thanksgiving weekend.

This is out opening Incredibles 2 if the rest of the marketing is good. Though I have a feeling it won’t quite make as much total.

Re: Frozen 2 predictions
Yeah its going to be HUGE. I didn't care for the first movie, but that is a pretty damn good teaser. It should easily end up in the top 5 domestic performers of the year and over $1B WW.
