KJ's 2014 Winter/Spring Box Office Contest

2014 is almost here - hard to believe it! This time, we're predicting 4 months (Jan - Apr), and we've definitely got an interesting and TOUGH season ahead. Tons of wildcards and a crazy unpredictable top 5 to predict.

The season's contest covers movies released from January 3rd, 2014 to April 25th, 2014. The player with the most points at the end of the game will receive a $25 gift card.

How the Points Work
Each player predicts the total domestic box office grosses of 25 movies listed further below. It's the ultimate test in box office predictions: guessing a movie's potential final gross before the season even starts with few, if any, tracking numbers. For each movie, the top 25% of players who predicted most accurately will get 3 points a piece.

Players can also score bonus points. The first is the Winter/Spring Top 5. Each players will predict the early 2014 season's five biggest films. Each rank correctly predicted with score 1 point. An extra bonus of 15 points is given to any player who correctly predicts the Winter/Spring 2013 Top 5 in the correct order. (This has still never been done in the history of this game.)

Finally, players predict the answers to ten various box office questions. A correct answer scores 2 points.

Ties are broken by the the sum of all of the total grosses for every movie minus the sum of your total gross predictions. Backup movies are in place in case any of the 25 predicted movies change their release date. Box office questions will only be voided if the movie with the release date change is specifically mentioned in the question, so be careful when crafting your answers.

Ready?
Fill out the form below and paste in this thread / PM it to me by January 2nd, 2014 at 11:59 PM CST. Good luck!

For reference, the movies not listed as of today are:

Devil's Due, the Nut Job, Labour Day from January
About Last Night, 3 Days to Kill, the Wind Rises, Almanac from February
Grace of Monaco, Single Mom's Club, Stretch, Bad Words, A Haunted House 2 from March
Draft Day, St Vincent, Heaven is for Real, Bears, Oculus, Earth to Echo, Other Woman, Quiet Ones, Walk of Shame from April

Loads don't have trailers so it's pretty hard to distinguish. Trailers already rated, yet to be released for 2014 movies include:

3 Days to Kill, Welcome to Yesterday (formerly: Almanac), Draft Day, Heaven is for Real, the Other Woman released trailers.

The Other Woman, 22 Jump Street, Million Dollar Arm, Blended and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes- all except the first are summer releases. (edit: all trailers released

That seems a bit lofty - I think there's a chance it could make less than half of the Muppets Movie, let alone increase from it.

Any specific reasoning??

Absolutely. Plus they made such great effort to make it feel like a "final" Muppets movie that the fact this exists is somewhat surprising.

Welcome to Yesterday looks like a fun cousin to Chronicle. I think it's a definitely one to take in consideration for #10.
