So that means Suburbicon actually received mainly Fs from the polled crowds. I mean, I am not COMPLETELY surprised as it is George Clooney and he is the most hit-and-miss director alive today, but still, Jesus Christ that's a shockingly low and rarely seen CinemaScore for a left-of-center, black comedy. Maybe people didn't get it, or it's simply crud.

Yeah that D- for Suburbicon is really surprising for me as well.

Suburbicon isn't that bad but it's pretty dark and totally the opposite of how the marketing portrayed the story.

Thor - A
Bad Moms Christmas - B

BMC
might get a B+. Not sure. Saw it tonight and I don't see the CinemaScore quite approaching the first film's A.

Thor: Ragnarok A+
Bad Moms Christmas B+

I am expecting stellar WOM for Thor: Ragnarok, and decent WOM for A Bad Moms Christmas.

A Bad Mom's Christmas received a B

STX might have fucked this one up. It was rushed (probably should've come out next year), the marketing has been awful, it wasn't screened for critics (so it sucks) and the Cinemascore has dropped a full letter grade from the previous film, which again only came out last year so audiences were probably willing to been more forgiving to this one since they loved these characters.

It'll still make a decent profit since since the budget is only $28 million, but why rush this? Is STX in that much trouble?

They wanted to strike while the Bad Moms iron was hot. What they failed to realize is that you still need a quality follow-up that's marketed well. I agree this felt totally rushed, plus it's a bit too early for a Christmas release. It will be forgotten about before December.

Daddy's Home 2 B+
Murder On The Orient Express B

The first Daddy's Home received a B+ so naturally I'm going to predict that for the sequel, even if I feel it will be a better film. And for Murder on the Orient Express, I'm going with the same score as 2010's The Tourist.

I love how most are predicting the same rating for both films.

I've seen Murder on the Orient Express, and I am not sure how audiences will respond. It is quite old-fashioned and talky. There are no "sexy" flourishes à la the trailer's use of Imagine Dragons. And it is not electrifying in a Gone Girl type of way.

Daddy's Home 2 - B
Murder on the Orient Express - C+

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly how I experienced it and I wasn't into so much.

Cinemascore results by the way are:

Daddy's Home 2 - A-
Murder on the Orient Express - B

Interesting that DH2 received above B+. I thought after those initial reviews that B+ was the max for it.
