What a creepy, disgusting, disturbing, real life like horror slasher film. This movie stayed with me because the first half was very realistic to me. I mean stuff that could very well happen. I wasn't really scared, but I was disturbed. Like watching a story you would hear on the news (First half) in live action. The ending on first sight appears to be kind of dumb and contrived. But after thinking about it awhile and the fact this movie was made in another country with a different culture, it actually isnt half bad. On the other hand, at times I forgot this wasn't made in the US. At times it seems like an older US Horror film to me.
This movie is too realistic and violent. I don't see this hiting the mainstream who think that movies like The Ring 2 or I Know what you Did Last Summer are terrifying. This is not a teeniebopper/mainstream film. If this was to break out, I would be shocked. Not because it's a bad movie, but because of it's tone. It is certainly one of the better done horror films. It is actually horror unlike many others labeled as such. It is better than most US Horror Films released lately (Not that it's hard to accomplish) or even over many years (Dont get me wrong. Still disturbed). People dont seem to like realistic horror movies of this real life like tone though. I would compare this to something like Henry (Which I remember being F-ed, but I haven't seen it in many years and really wouldnt seek it out).
With the exception of Doom (Which has problems which are always a bad sign), I dont know what any of these others movies are even about yet.
I don't think any of them will hit like the ones from the last 4 years.
Were Alien vs Predator and The Village even Horror? They were more like a Made for Tv movie on the Sci Fi Channel and some kind of strange Mystery.

I can't believe how some of you go on about this movie HIGH TENSION as though it's the most gruesome movie in history.. It looks so damn generic and so repetitive of movies like TCM or Friday the 13th with a guy chasing some chick through thwe woods with a chainsaw, that it makes me wonder if you've ever watched any of these horror movies before?? It doesn't even look scary.. I suppose to each is own though, but it looks more like a direct to DVD Horror movie than anything..
I would've totally seen it opening night. It should do alright, probably ANACONDA numbers. I never thought it would do very good, I just think it looks like a really fun movie.
