Seconded. Another question would be if My Week With Marilyn and The Artist together will make more or less than The Iron Lady. All 3 are Weinstein Oscar hopefuls.

My Week With Marilyn (Come on people, I think this would be one of the most interesting to predict. It could possibly breakout.)
J. Edgar
Piranha 3DD
Harold & Kumar

OTHER: The Descendants

Question #10... How do you define "holiday season?" Is this more or less asking whether War Horse, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, or Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close will gross more?

Pretty much. Nominations are never guaranteed though (while those are as close to locks as you can get), and there's always room for surprises like The King's Speech (even though True Grit ended up grossing more).

Oh and the late fall/holiday season any of the box office questions are referring to is October 28th through December 31st.

Post subject:  Re: KJ's Winter Box Office Contest 2011 - Game on!

I find Immortals difficult to predict. It has a "flop" vibe to me, yet the advertising campaign has been very loud, and there is an audience for this type of material. Just not sure if this is more 300 or more Conan the Barbarian.

Hugo is also a big question-mark.

I'm going to low ball We Bought a Zoo. I guess it could do well, but...I don't know. Not sure what audience it's going to connect with. Seems too childish and storybook-earnest for the usual adult audience one associates with Cameron Crowe, yet not fun or zany or comic enough to distract children from all the other options.

Those are some really nice questions Casey. I will need to go through all the trailers, cause I think this year already has had a lot of surprises in terms of breakouts and flops. This could lead to a boring October and specially November (where outside of Twilight there is nothing that looks interesting yet).
