I found this box office analysis on the web for Sin City, and the last part really caught my attention. http://www.worldofkj.com/Articles/Mav-SinCity.php " Barring a limited screen count , and assuming that the movie isn't ravaged by critics and movie goers alike , I think "Sin City" will open in the neighborhood of $23 million, and gross around $70 million by the end of it's run, and that, my friends, would definitely be a success! However, don't be surprised if Sin City is exactly the type of movie that gets people talking. It definitely fits into the mold of a potential "it" movie, and should that happen, a $30 million dollar opening and a $100 million dollar final gross are very real possibilities!" That was a gutsy call! 1 Sin City $29,120,273 \:D/ |

2 things. Sin City 2 ... we all know its going to happen. So far I have heard Johney Depp as a character ... love that. I have a strong feeling Clive Owen is coming back ... same with Dawson and Hartnet. Infact ... I would like to see hartnet's character explored as one of the main 3 if they go the same route. That means ... Hartnet ... Depp ... Owen if my logic serves me correctly. |

Rodriguez is THE MAN when it comes to making marketable, stylish films with small budgets. Once Upon a Time in Mexico had a $29 million production budget, which is absolutely incredible, and I watched a special on the DVD explaining some great tricks he had in making low budget action. Sin City is another great example. This film is not only great, but it will be financially successful as well. Great weekend for Sin City! PEACE, Mike ![]() |

While I could see how Once Upon a Time cost so little (the action scenes were plentiful but never went insane, sticking to moslty gunfights), I'm amazed at how well Rodreguez is able to make the film so cheap by using digital film. This film may be the point at which films begin to change formats. |

PEACE, Mike ![]() Not that the movie is all that great, but I thought his commentary on the Spy Kids 2 DVD was great. He discusses quite a bit about the things he does to keep the budget down. Very interesting stuff. BTW, nice numbers for Sin City. |
